New Drug
GM-CSF (immune stimulation) +GP2 (a small section of the HER2/neu protein) versus placebo.
This is the most advanced clinical trial for a vaccine-type therapy for breast cancer.

- Residual cancer or high risk after chemo+surgery

ShortStop-HER2
New Approach
Whether HER2-targeted treatment after surgery (eg. trastuzumab) can be reduced from 12 months to 6.
This is a de-escalation trial exploring whether treatment duration can be safely reduced to minimize adverse impacts.

- Complete response to neoadjuvant treatment (prior to surgery)
- Within 14 weeks of surgery
- Did not receive trastuzumab before surgery
- Cancer remaining after surgery
